Reflections - Program Assistant
Mark has personal experience with family, friends and himself who have been exposed to this life threatening disease of substance abuse including alcohol. Mark now has several years of recovery and participates in a program of recovery for his own personal growth and to help others who are in the grips of their addiction/alcoholism to find a new way to live. This includes volunteer work with an institutionalized populations seeking recovery.
Mark has received a CAARR Institute Certification as for Addiction Practitioner in first year of his last five years as a Health Care Professional. He has experience working at a non-profit treatment center for two years and three years at other private treatments centers. Mark has been gathering valuable experiences along the way using compassion and empathy as tools for communicating with those individuals who are in desperation to find a way out of their struggles with mind a mood altering substances. Mark is presently studying to become an AOD counselor to obtain a CADC-1 Credential and has an amazing sense of humor.
