Medications
Suboxone and Subutex
Some clients are put on Suboxone or Subutex for pain management by their previous provider. That provider will be part of our treatment team and we will work collaboratively with them. Some clients are put on a Suboxone or Subutex taper following opiate use. We will work collaboratively with their previous provider as well. They may be on a recommended low dose for an indefinite period.
Methadone
There is a lot of stigma about methadone in the recovering community as well as the treatment community that puts undue pressure on the recovering addict. At Reflections, our policy is that we do not admit clients on Methadone. We can facilitate a medical assessment and possibly convert a client to suboxone or subutex.
Benzodiazepines
Many clients come to us on a benzodiazepine taper. We will work collaboratively with their previous provider.
Amphetamines for Treatment of ADHD
We will at times make exceptions for severe cases of ADHD clients who have been prescribed stimulants. Again we work collaboratively with their previous provider.
Prescription Abuse
Abuse of any of the above mentioned medications is not tolerated at Reflections and this is grounds for dismissal from the program.
